Why I Thrive on Helping Others

Making a difference by empowering others to heal and prosper brings me a lot of joy and satisfaction. It’s been a lifetime commitment for which I’m deeply grateful.

I enrolled in an Agriculture school in the 70s to study organic farming, but this was back when the word “organic” was taboo—the chemical companies were funding our schools—so I settled on a BS in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design.

After I graduated, I moved to California to study and teach edible landscaping and French Intensive and Biodynamic Farming at the local Junior College. After attending the CA School of Herbal Studies in 1980, I became very involved in herbs and holistic healing and opened an alternative therapy and educational center in Calistoga, a “holistic” hub of mud baths, mineral waters and natural hot springs in the midst of wine country.

As a practicing holistic health consultant for over 30 years, my specialty has been honed to environmental health because as the years went by, the standard protocol of getting enough sleep, eating right and exercising daily were no match for the accumulated effect of environmental toxins.

Modern ailments with names like chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, chemical sensitivity and others were sprouting up and lifestyle and diet changes that had helped clients heal in the past just weren’t as effective.

In 2003 I was teaching at the local hospital on the topic of heavy metals and the day before the last class I was introduced to liquid zeolite. I researched everything available on the zeolite clinoptilolite, shared the information with hundreds of others over the course of the next five years, and acquired firsthand experience in the dramatic effect it can have on eliminating toxins from the body.

When Eddie Stone called to tell me about Touchstone Essentials, I “got” right away that what he had created was phenomenal. He had created a brand new paradigm within the industry by offering the type of products that people, especially people in Northern California, have been asking for, for a long time. I was especially excited to hear about a new, affordable, standardized, third-party-tested liquid zeolite!

I keep busy as it is with my business and several passions including meditation, yoga, rescue horses, gardening and my weekly Spanish, drum and dance classes, but I managed to rearrange all the “in between” time with my clients, classes and workshops and made space to create an organization within Touchstone Essentials. Then I invited a few friends and colleagues to two small presentations.

While the guests saw and felt my excitement, I believe they were also attracted to what Touchstone Essentials offers, including the company’s values of partnership, transparency, integrity and trust. It’s the first direct selling company I’ve been involved in where I wasn’t embarrassed to send people directly to the website, because with Touchstone Essentials, the products and customers come first and there’s no hype.

From the creative, easy-to-navigate website to the farm-fresh, whole food products, plus an incredible business plan with it’s been pretty effortless and lots of fun. Plus I get to work with some of my favorite people on the planet!
